FAQ
Q1: What is the difference between L485 and L485Q?
A: L485 (X70) is normal thermo‑mechanically rolled grade.L485Q (X70Q)is quenched‑and‑tempered heat‑treated grade. L485Q provides much better low‑temperature toughness and DWTT performance, mainly used for offshore, deep‑cold area critical pipelines where‑brittle fracture is required.
Q2: Can L485Q be used for sour H₂S service?
A: Standard L485Q is for general low‑temperature/off‑shore service. For sour service with hydrogen sulfide, please selectL485QS / X70QSgrade with strict low‑sulfur control and HIC test requirement. Please advise medium composition and working environment for correct grade selection.
Q3: What size range can you supply for L485Q seamless pipe?
A: OD 60 mm‑426 mm seamless pipe, wall thickness from 6 mm to 40 mm. We support custom fixed‑length cutting. Large OD above 426 mm normally applies welded line pipe.
Q4: What certificates can you provide?
A: Original mill test certificateEN 10204 3.1is supplied. 3.2 certificate with third‑party witness inspection (BV / SGS / CCIC) is available upon customer order. PMI, UT, hydro‑test documents are included in test package.
Q5: What surface coating options are available?
A: Bare black pipe with‑rust oil as default.‑corrosion coating options: 3LPE, 3LPP, FBE fusion bonded epoxy, coal‑tar epoxy. Coating thickness can follow customer specification.
Q6: Is field welding feasible for L485Q?
A: Yes, L485Q owns good weldability. Welding procedure specification (WPS) shall be qualified in advance according to API 5L project requirements.
Q7: What is your lead‑time?
A: Production lead‑time normally 25‑40 working days based on order quantity. Small quantity partial delivery can be negotiated.
